BurdaStyle ‘Jane’ Pajamas

I had almost this entire pajama set completed back in March…but I waited until last night to sew on the straps which took approximately 5 minutes. What was I WAITING FOR??? haha who knows! But alas, they are now completed!

I used some super super soft cotton voile from Anna Maria Horner’s Little Folks line. That fabric seriously feels like butter. It’s amazing.

I used BurdaStyle’s ‘Jane’ pattern shown below:

7997B_tech_largeFairly straightforward construction. It was my first time adding elastic straight to the fabric and not into a casing of sorts. Much more simple than I expected!

So this was the state of the PJ’s back in March…

You might notice that they are almost completely finished. I forgot to line up the pattern on the shorts…oh well.

Four month and FIVE minutes later…they were completed!!

I just used some 1/4″ bias tape for the straps. I think I delayed sewing them on because I wasn’t completely sure how to secure them. So I just winged it and sewed em’ on!IMG_1587

I must have intentionally placed the front diamond of the pattern at the center…there’s no way that happened by chance. I just don’t remember doing it. Hmmmmm.IMG_1592 IMG_1594 IMG_1595

Sorry, you’ll only be seeing this modeled by my dressform (who curiously doesn’t have a name yet. I’m a huge fan of giving personal names to inanimate objects). ┬áThe fabric’s a little too thin to take any pictures on me – but it fits and I wore it to bed last night and it surved! (Unlike the nightdress my mother made me when I was young. First night I wrote it to sleep? I fell out of bed and somehow managed to completely tear the fabric)

Very cute! They look awfully comfy too!
